Marvel Studios has received severe critics from people in the VFX community over its difficult working conditions. Visual Effects artists have hit out at the studio for being worst place to work and claimed that it imposes strict deadlines, despite employees being stressed to the max.
The allegations were made clear in an Reddit thread that read "I'm sick and tired from working for Marvel show! Many artists have shared their stories of how working for Marvel made them tired and dissatisfied.
One user wrote within the Reddit thread "Marvel is probably the most ineffective method for production, and VFX management that exists. They'll never change the design of the show until more than half of the allotted time to the show is completed.
The creators of Marvel shows aren't paid in the same way as the amount of effort they put into."
Another person expressed their frustration and wrote, “I am on my third Marvel project in a row and literally just woke up 5:30 am on a Saturday with stress going ‘I don’t want to do this anymore.
It’s 6 am now and I am making a reel to apply someplace that has projects other than Marvel because I can’t do this anymore.”
Dhruv Govil, a former VFX artist who worked with Marvel on Guardians of the Galaxy, shared an article that detailed the accusations and tweeted, “Working on #Marvel shows is what pushed me to leave the VFX industry. They’re a horrible client, and I’ve seen way too many colleagues break down after being overworked, while Marvel tightens the purse strings.”
